Friday, April 16, 1869

(Hartford) Up at 6.30. Bright day. Off at 8.10 for New York. Worked on Annual Report. Wrote Frank Otis. Reached New York at 1pm. Called at Mary's. Thence to 14th St to see Baldwin. Called at Thos. Gallaudet's, also to Bern's office, missing him. Thence to 599 Bdway. At Devlin's was measured for coat - having received money for it from Mary. At St. Nicholas met Mr. Camp. Talked with him. Dined with him. Called after dinner at Baldwin's & Crane's. Thence to Mary's & down to Peck Ship. to take Str. Traveller for New Haven. At 1am she broke down (shared state room with stranger - retiring at 11.30.)
