(Hartford) up at 7.20. Worked on Essay for Nat'l S. S. Conv'n most of day. Sent off six S. S. letters and one other. Letter from Fred at noon. Wrote him. Down to Watkinson library and also downtown shopping. Called at Father's. Worked in evening on Essay and retired at 11.15.
