(New York) Up at 6. Raining. After breakfast at 5th Av. Hotel, called at Thos. Gallaudet's to leave present for Caroline, it being her wedding day. Left package for Devlin & Co. Wrote note to R. C. Ogden. Sun came out. Downtown in cars. Off for Phila at 8.40. Wrote up diary notes. Made notes for even'g address. Reached Phila. at 12. Called at Union rooms. Saw Mr. Wurts. Thence to S.S. Times office. Rode with Zamguies to Bethany Miss'n S. S. Hall to attend Teacher's Institute. Spoke there on Helps over Hard Places. Again answ'd Questions. Took tea in S. S. parlor. Attended prayer meeting. In eve'g spoke on Home S. S. Back to hotel at 10.30. Met Kingsbury at Institute. Wrote awhile to Fred. Retired at 12.15.
