(Hartford) Cold, stormy day. Up at 8.40. Kept the house all day. Read books and papers. Conducted home service with children. Heard Sophy's S.S. lesson. Read to family about the loss of the Atlantic. Wrote Fred in the evening. Retired at 11.30.
