Saturday, May 8, 1869

(Boston) Up at 6 with head-ache. After breakfast, off at 7.30 for Winslow's Station, South Dedham. Called at Frank Winslow's & at Rev. J. P. Bixby's. Looked over papers. Read awhile. Down to East Walpole with Mr. Bixby. Called from house to house to give notice of S.S. formation. Back to Mr. B's at noon. Wrote Col. Pettibone, J. Reid, W. R. Stocking, Rev. J. M. L. Curry etc. Down to E. Walpole again visiting. In all called on twenty-seven families. Wrote up diary on returning to Mr. Bixby's. Met Mr. Winslow at cars. Down to E. Walpole again in eve'g. Attended prayer meeting at Dea. Rhodes'. Spoke on Faith. Rode about with Mr. Bixby. Wrote up record of addresses. Retired at 11. Sent ten S.S. letters.
