(Columbia, S. C.) Up at 5.30. Found rat in basin. Off for Greenville at 7am. Wrote Mr. Camp. Dined at Cokesbury. Napped it before dinner. Talked with Confederate soldier maimed at Malvern Hills. Saw Farrow passing in cars. Wrote to the Camps, Mr. Lingard, & Rev. S.W. Byfield. Reached Greenville at 6pm. Went to Mansion House. Called at post-office. Took bath in eveg. Wrote on letter to Alice. Retired at 10.30. Rainy afternoon & evening.
