(Stockbridge, Mass.) Bright day. Up at 7.30. After breakfast & prayers, read to Walter. Looked over sermon. Preached at Cong'l Ch. in a.m. from Luke XII.12. Attended & opened S.S. at noon. At 1.45 preached to child'n from Phil.11.9. Walked in cemetery with Mr. Reid & Walter. Called at rooms of boys. Talked with Steadman & Stowe. Heard boys sing. In eve'g preached at Library Hall from Deut. XXXIII.25. Met boys in library & addressed them. Met one by one, boys who wished to converse on religion, & counseled them. Lunched in Mr. Reid's room. Retired at 12.
