(New York) Awoke at dock, and up at 6.30. Breakfasted at Parker's. Had hair cut at Thatford's. Called at Wallace's & Devlin's. Left coat to be repaired at D's. Up at 10 Bible House. Met McCullagh, Tyler, Childlow, Emory, & Bissell. Wrote Fred, Gray, Mr. & Mrs. Camp. Down to Astor House. Bought ticket to Lynchburg. Met Mrs. Col. Wheeler. Back to Devlin's. Had hurried trip to 42nd St. for 3pm train. Hard run to cars. Warm day. Wrote F. Allen. Wrote up diary. Sent off four S.S. letters and seven others. Downtown at 8.45 pm. Brought ice-cream for Alice. Took bath. Retired at 11.45.
