(Bloomfield, New York) Up at 5.45. Down to depot without breakfast. Wrote awhile at depot. Off for Newark at 6.35. Breakfasted in Newark. Thence to Phila about 7.30. Wrote Fred on cars. At Phila. called at Union rooms. Reported to Mr. Wurts from trip south. Talked with Dr. Allibone. Thence to young Fish's store & to S.S. Times office. Dined late. Off for N.Y. at 6.45. Attempted to take New Haven boat train at 11pm. Thence to 5th Av. Hotel. After supper met Caroline Shaw née Gallaudet & others. Retired at 12.45. Wrote Fred Camp & Fred Fish & Gray.
