(Springfield, Mass.) Up at 6.30. Bright day. After breakfast at Massasoit off by 8am. Conn. River R.R. Above Bellows Falls left cars at break in the road. Rode three miles in wagon. Had pie & cheese lunch at farm-house. Had talk with Mr. Knight of Providence. Wrote Fred Fish, Walter Camp, Alice & Fred Camp. Reached Rutland Vt. about 5pm. Called at Y.M.C.A. rooms. Stopped at Stevens House. Met O.B. Douglass. Spoke in evening at State S.S. Convention in Congl Ch. K.A. Burnell preceded me. Took lunch after at depot. Retired at 11.30. Sent one S.S. letter.
