(Hartford) Up at 9 with slight head-ache. Finished article for Advance. Called at Father's, aided Gurdon arrange reflector for trout-painting. In afternoon down-town. Saw dog on Main St. take possession of wrong carriage. Called at Courant office & market. Read article to Advance to Mother & Gurdon. In evening wrote article to Congregationalist about my writing in cars. Wrote also on letter to Fred. Hunted S.S. Times volumes for Essay by Geo. Dana Boardman. Retired at 1am. Sent four S.S. letters.
