Sunday, October 3, 1869

(Amherst, Mass.) Up at 7.30. Rainy day. Worked on sermon again. At 10.30 went to College Chapel and preached to young men from I Kings 2:2. Dined with Prof. Seelye. Met youn Haven of New London. In afternoon preached from Gal 6:7 at College Chapel. Rode thence with Col. Clark to Agricultural College and preached to young men the sermon of the forenoon. Returned to Mr. Jenkins to tea. In evening addressed congregation at Mr. Jenkin's church from II Kings 2:21. Home with Jenkins. Chatted there an hour or two. Retired at 11.
