(Hartford) Up at 7.30. Off at 9.45 for Springfield. Letter from Miss Bacon about Gray. Wrote on letter to Fred as I rode. Sent long letter to him from Springfield. Called at Holland's office. Met Marsh and talked with him. Called at gold-pen maker's. Tried various pens.Called at Mrs. Merriam's to consult as to Gray. Dined at Massasoit. Home by 2.20pm train. Down to dentist's with May. Thence to Dr. Hunt's & home. In evening wrote Miss Bacon. Down to Pearl St. Church to attended Christian Commission meeting. Heard Roe, Mingius, & Parsons. Called at Dr. Hunt's. Home at 10. Occupied South room. Retired at 11.20. Taken with colic soon after. Took emetics. Sent letter to Cong'l & accomp'g note.
