(Hartford) Up at 8.30. Downtown after breakfast to post-office. Fred's cold severe. Sent off nine S.S. letters and two others. Re-arranged rooms. Mr. Allen came back. In afternoon, Camps called & stopped to tea. Peach short-cake. Fred's chest troubling him. In evening again bathed his feet & gave him cream of tartar. Retired at 10.30, with him.
