(Hartford) Up at 8.15. Cool day. After breakfast wrote awhile. Charley Camp called. Downtown to post-office & book-stores. Met Thos. Hyde of Andover. Talked with him about article in Congl. & Rec'd. Met Lt. Otis. Wrote again in afternoon. Looked over papers. Sent seven S.S. letters, one telegram & one other letter. At 7.15 off for Boston. Reached Parker House about 12. Retired at 12.30.
