(Hartford) Awoke with headache. Up at 8.45. Bright day. Breakfast all alone. Wrote letters all forenoon. Down to bank & post-office after dinner. Met Gov. Hawley and talked with him about Masonry. Walked with Dr. Bushnell to Weed Sewing Machine Co. Works. At home, with Alice. Off at 4.45 for Springfield. Wrote Fred. Supped at Massasoit. Called at Holland's. Thence to Mrs. Merriam's. Met Mrs. Duncklea. Back to Massasoit. Wrote Walter H. Camp. Retired at 11.20. Sent eight S.S. letters and one other.
