(Pomfret, Ct.) Up at 7.45. Bright, cool, lovely morning after the rain. Looked over sermons & talked with Dr. Williams about them. Out to Congl Church. Preached from Deut. 33:26. Rev. Mr. Hyde pastor & Rev. Mr. Alexander ex-pastor present. Stopped at S.S. and addressed it. After lunch at Dr. William's, rode with him to Putnum. Preached in Cong'l Ch. there from Luke 12:12. Went home with Mr. W. R. Ward. At 5pm preached in open air to masses on public square. Sermon from Matt 22:36, 37. Home again with Mr. Ward. Talked with family awhile. Wrote in room to dear Fred. Retired at 11.15.
