(Hartford) Up at 7.30. Bright day. Head clearer. Called at Father's. Wrote on copy for Dec'r "World" and for Independent. Johnny off at noon for Bridgeport. Downtown in afternoon to Hatch & Tyler's. Saw Mr. Lambe. In evening, Johnny returned. Commenced sermon on Godliness Profitable. Wrote at Father's an hour or two. Alice, Johnny, Sophy, & May out to Hampton Concert at Opera House. Down to meet them about 9 o'clock. Met Gen. Armstrong. With him at American Hotel. Brought him home for the night. Sat talking with him until 11.40. Retired at 12.10.
