(Hartford) Up at 7. Bright day. Gen. Armstrong off after breakfast. Wrote on sermon nearly all day. Only at Father's all day. Hall carpet laid. Father came over to house after dinner. Read portions of sermon to Mother and Gurdon, and to Alice and Johnny. Retired at 10.15.
