(Hartford) Up at 7.15. Called at Father's. Down to bank. Cut off coupons from Father's bonds. Called at Hartford & Mhsfld Home RW Office. Off at 1.50 for New York with J. B. Smith. Wrote on items for Independent, and on rejoinder to Hartley, for "Times" also on editorial for Nat'l S.S. Teacher for Nov'r. At Bible House about 5.40. Met Frank Allen. Went to dinner with Wisewell. Pleasant evening there. Down to Astor House for night. Long talk with J. B. Smith about J. B. Walker. Retired at 11.45.
