(New York City) Up at 5.30. Out to Parker's to breakfast. Off at 7 for Mahanoy City to attend S.S. Convention for Schuyhill Co., PA. Studied lesson on cars. Met C. B. Stout on his way to convention, also Hon. John Hill. At Mahanoy City about 1.30. Met by Mr. Phillips & Rev. Mr. Woods. Went to Mr. Phillips to dinner. Out in afternoon to S.S. Convention. Children's meeting at German Reformed Church. Mr. Hill, Mr. Stout & self addressed the gathering. Spoke of deaf-mute signs. Went with Mr. Smith to Mr. Conrad's to tea and for remainder of stay. In evening Dr. Balville spoke on S.S. and Family. Followed him on same theme. Retired at Mr. Conrad's about 10.30.
