(Stonington, CT.) Up at 7.30. Bright day. After breakfast, Dr. Hyde called to see Charley. Out to make calls. Called at Uncle Frank's, Mary Howe's, and Dr. Hyde's. Again at Mr. Stiles Stanton's. Off about noon for Watch Hill on Ella. W. R. Burnham and S.S. from Uncasville on boat. Dined at Watch Hill House. Met Lt. Goddard, Gen. Birge, B. K. Phelps, F. A. Brever, and others. Back to New London on Ella, leaving Watch Hill at 3.30. Rought and sea-sicky weather. Landed at Pequot House. Thence by sail boat to Capt Spicer's. Out on rocks in evening. Retired at 10. Wakeful night from nausea.
