(Eastern Point) Up at 7. Bright, calm, warm day. Off for New London by 9.55 boat with Alice, Ally, Annie, and Johnny. Wrote up diary. Wrote on Independent items. By steamer Ella from New London to Stonington. Met Mrs. Cummings, Col. Burnham, and others on boat. In Stonington about noon. Met George Hubbard. Dined at Wadawananck. Called on Dr. Hyde and at Uncle Frank's. Off at 4pm for New London by rail. Met Dr. Barney and wife at New London. Back to Groton by 5.30 boat. Walked to Mr. Avery's. Everett took Alice and children from there. Johnny and I walked. Retired at 8.10.
