(Springfield) Up at 6.25. After breakfast at Masssoit, off at 7 for Hartford. Met Alice at depot there with Johnny & Sophy. Alice went me to Greenwich to attend 10th CV reunion. Gen. Hawley with us. Met Gen & Mrs. Otis, Gen. Greeley & others on train. At Greenwich about noon. At Congl Church S.S. room had business meeting of regiment. Unusually large meeting. I was chosen Prest. of the Assocn. Dinner give by the citizens to the regiment at hotel near the beach. Col. Hoyt welcomed the veterans. Pleasant meeting. Off at 4.40 with Miss Mather for New York. We stopping at Wms. Bridge. Alice returned to Hartford with Gen. Hawley. From New York about 7pm for Phil. At Continental about 11.30. Met B. E. Smith. Heard of Dr. Hyde's death, retired at 11.30.
