(Philadelphia) After wakeful night, with mosquitos and nervousness up at 7.30. Bright day. Telegraphed Alice. Out to Union rooms at 9am. Great Masonic gathering in Phila. to dedicate Masonic temple. Talked over plans for 1874 with Rice. Met Wurts and had talk over mission work. Called on Mr. Whelldin and Mr. Knowles with 00000. With Baker about 2pm. Heard of Mr. Lyon's death. Met Mr. Wells of Potterville at 2.45. to talk over S.S. Convention at Mahanoy City. Again at Baker's. Dined at Continental restaurant. Off for New York at 5.30. Met B. E. Smith & Gov. Denison of Ohio, on cars. Met Judge Barbour of Htfd in N.Y. At Prime's about 9.45. Retired at 12.
