(Hartford) Up at 8.40. Bright, cool morning. Called at Father's. Down to Talcott & Post's, Brown & Goss' & Bank with Johnny. Bought spittoon, holder, & fire set. Balanced cash, received books from Hartley. Downtown after dinner with Alice & Sophy. Called at Hart, Merriman Jobs. At Father's after dinner and again in evening. Re-arranged books on shelves. Out to prayer meeting at Asylum Hill church. Mr. Bartlett led it. Brisk talk on Delight in the Lord securing the desires of the heart. Wrote up diary. Retired at 10.30.
