(Stonington, CT) Cloudy and damp morning. Up at 7. Made notes for afternoon talk. Out to Cong Ch. in forenoon. Heard Rev. Amos Chester preach on the Canonized Saints of the Household. At S.S. at noon. Called on Dr. Hart. Again studied for afternoon. Led in prayer at Dr. Hyde's with family mourners at 3PM. Remains taken to Congl Church for funeral. Large gathering there. Mr. Wales conducted service. Dr. Palmer, Mr. 000000 & Mr. 0000000. I followed them in brief remarks. Off with Mr. Clift for Mystic. Attended and addressed Y.M.C.A. gathering. Spoke on One Thing Needful. At Union Bap Ch from Luke 14:22 in the evening. At Mr. Clifts for night. Retired at 10.
