(New London, CT) Up at 7. Took bath. High wind blowing. Clear day, and cool. Called at Joshua Learned's. Went to church with him. He and Rev. Mr. Gaylord preach on Repentance. Over to Edgecombe House by 12.30 boat. Met J. B. Russell, Junior at hotel and boat. At Spicer's about 1.15. Read in room most of afternoon. Walked with Alice to Mr. Avery's before tea. In evening rode with him to Groton Bank. Heard Rev. Mr. Woodhull preach on Amusements. Back to house about 9.30. Retired at 10.
