(New York) Up at 6.30. Copied notes of 000000 as to Quarterly. Breakfasted with Vincent and Paltz. Up to Wilder's with Peltz to see Hartley. Hartley already off. Back to hotel. Found him there. Rode with him to ferry. Called at Allen's office, after bidding goodbye to Hartley. Called at Independent office. Up to 42nd. St. Off for New London at 1pm. Read on cars. At New London at 5.15. Met Johnny and Ally there. With them by steamer to Eastern Point. Gov. Buckingham, J. C. Parsons, and W. C. Camp on boat. At Capt. Spicer's about 6pm. Settled down there. Tired and sleepy. Retired about 10.30.
