(Hartford) Up at 8. Cloudy, close morning. Packed valises for a start. Down to bank, Steele's, etc. Obtained divid. from carpet co. on Father's order. Deposited it. Worked on S.S. estimates. Off at 12.50 for New York. Worked on census estimates and other items for Hartley. At St. Denis Hotel about 5. Thence to Wisewell's. Had talk with him about Kingsbury. Again at St. Denis. Frank Allen called. He dined with me and passed pleasant evening. Hartley and Vincent called about 11pm. Sat with them talking over Anglo-American S.S. Quarterly until 1am. Retired at 1.30.
