(New York Harbor) Up at 6.30. Beautiful morning. Out on deck with Mr. Beveridge. Left boat at 7.45. At Wallace's, via Fulton Ferry at 9.30. Wallace's family in their new home at 444 Clinton Ave. Kate Budd and children and Mother Gallaudet there. Over to New York. Called at Wallace's. Met Thomas. At Independent office, at Allen's, at Wisewell's, and at Vincent's. Dined with Vincent at St Denis. Met G. M. Brawner there. At Wisewell's again. With him to Scribner's. Talked with Dr. Holland about Anglo Am. S.S. Quarterly. At Independent officce. Made new bargain for work on paper @$15 per week. At Wallace's about 6. Mr. Fessenden came. Called on Dr. Eggleston. At Wallace's and retired at 11.30.
