(Hartford) Up about 7. Long and tedious trial with Charley, on account of his crying to go downstairs. Wrote on S.S. World items, also for Independent. At Father's soon after dinner. Downtown with Johnny. At Bank, at Talcott & Post's, down to 000000 Retreat. Met Geo. Gray, Col. Pardee, & Mr. Giles Babcocki at Retreat. Wrote up diary in evening. Retired at 11.
