(New York Harbor) Up at 7. Bright day. Ned went to Wallace's to breakfast. I breakfasted at Parker's, on Dey St. Called at Frank Allen's office. Wrote notes for Independent while waiting for him. Called at Christian Union to see Oliver Johnson, who wanted me to do S.S. work on the paper. Then at Independent office. At Allen's again. Up to Wisewell's office. He walked to 35th St. with me. Lunched hurriedly. Off at 3pm for home. Met young Bruce on cars just back from Europe. Wrote awhile. At home about 7.15. Johnny off at Plainville S.S. Union meeting. Father very nervous. There until near midnight. Retired about 11.45. Mr. & Mrs. H. S. Bartmer called.
