(Hartford) Up at 7.50. Hot day. Finished notes on sermons of times of delivery. Downtown with Johnny. At bank, printer's, T. Steele's, etc., post-office, Prescott's. Bought water-melon and carried it home. Canned plum pudding for dinner. Off with Sophy for Boston by 1.37 train. Wrote up diary. Read S.S. Magazines. At Boston about 5.40. George Wattles met us. Stopped at corn-doctor's. Sophy had her feet attended to. At Shute's. Took rooms at Parker's. George and Shute with us at dinner. Left Sophy at hotel. Called at Shute's. Retired about 10.30. Wakeful night.
