(Winnipawk, CT) Up at 7.45. Severe thunderstorm in morning. Rainy day. Made ready for services. Out to Norwalk. Conducted service and preached Hypocrisy sermon in forenoon. At S.S. there at noon. Back to Winnipawk. After lunch out in severe rain to mission school. Preached on Temtation of Jesus. Read Dr. Hall's book on Puritans. Down to Norwalk in evening to S.S. concert. Arthur Bissell spoke. Talked of S.S. progress and work of last ten years, Mormons, Chinese, and deaf mute signs. Back to Winnipawk. Mr. Randle called. Retired at 11.
