Corrected proof of "World" articles. Off for home by 11am train. Met Prof. Atherton at New Brunswick. Rode with him thenceforward. At New York about 2.15. Dined at Ashland House. Off at 4.30 for New Haven. Met Ferris, Searle, & Matthias on train. Supped at New Haven. Off at 8.10 for Hartford. Met. Gen. Goodyear on cars. Rainy evening & night. Home about 9.50. Retired about 10.30.
