Friday, August 15, 1873

(Eastern Point) Up at 6.40. Clearing off. Up to New London by 9.55 boat. Off for Stonington by 11.30 train. Called on Billy Fanning. Dined at restaurant. Mmet Rely Hancox. Off for New London at 1.30. At Groton walked from one ferry to another. Back to Capt. Spicer's by 3pm boat. Wrote letters busily. John B. Smith came in early evening. Johnn off for Hamburg. Long talks with Smith on preaching and S.S. work. He passed night in Johnny's room. Retired at 11. Mr. Case returned to Hartford about noon.
