(Hartford) Up at 7.20. Wrote on Independent items. downtown to bank, Horse Railway office, Bullard's, etc. with Johnny. At Father's twice. He at house. Off with Johnny for Boston by first express. Wrote on Independent copy and on article for Times. At Shute's about 6. Supped at Parker's. Attended M. O. L. L. U. S. meeting. Sat by Gen. Griffin. Met Senator Boutwell. Long talk with Johnny about his methods of work. Retired at 11.15. Went to sleep about 12.15.
