(Boston) Up at 7.30. At Shute's about 8.45. Sent off Independent copy and wrote Johnny. Called at Congregationalist office. Met Richardson. At Shute's met Hurd. Off at 1pm (after lunch at Parker's with Shute & Hurd) for Lynn, to attend Friends National First Day Conference. Delightful gathering, in Universalist church conference room. Mrs. R. Pearsall Smith gave admirable address on the object of S.S. work, emphasizing the importance of faith in Jesus for oneself and for our children. Hame with G. Q. Maynard to tea. Out with him in evening. Discussion on 0000 and the S.S. Retired at 10.30. Passed night with Mr. Jones of Maine.
