(Hartford) Up at 7.45. Very hot day. Downtown with Johnny. Bought hat box for Alice, also bag. Wrote letters. Downtown after dinner. Called at "Courant" office. Bought silver watch at T. Steele & Sons. Wrote other letters. Bought shoes for Charley, patent leather Congress hats for self, coffee, etc. New game came from Boston. Called at Father's. Wrote up diary. Retired at 11.30, after work on "One Lesson For All" 0000 for Hartley.
