(Boston) Up at 7.30. After breakfast called at Noyes, H. Ames & Co., and at book stand on Washington St. Bought several books. At Shute's about 11. Called at Pratt's and at Torrey's. Looked at carpets for library room. Lunched at Parker's. Off for house by 3pm train. Severe rain from 11.30 until night. Read books on cars. At home about 7.30. After tea called at Father's. His head wandering. Did not recognize me at first. Retired at 10.
