(Hartford) Up with sick headache at 8. Lay down on lounge and slept most of day. Up at 3.30 feeling better. off at 4.20 for New York. Met Maj. Babcock on train at Stamford. In New York went home with him to Judge Woodruff's house for night - his family being absent. Read awhile. Retired at 12.45. Unable to sleep until nearly 3. Very nervous. Sent four S.S. letters.
