(Hartford) Up at 7.40. Cool morning. Nellie & Lizzie Camp with us. Gen. Howley called. He off for Washington with his wife. Called at Father's. Prime there. Father confused as to my identity. Downtown with Johnny to Leyrn's, the dyer's & kindling factory, etc. Again at Father's. After dinner wrote in his house. Again wrote and read there in the evening. John B. Smith called on me. Had talk with him about S.S. World work. Retired at 10.30.
