(Hartford) Up at 7.15. Cool, bright morning. Wrote letters. Downtown, after call at Father's. Handed note of Father's at bank. Received check from Mr. Gonres. At Watson's, Spencer's, Grey's, Brill's, etc. Prime left for home at noon. John B. Smith called in afternoon, also Cushing & Merriam, Mr. Reed, of Amherst, with Hitchcock's Analysis, and Rev. Mr. Scott, of Ansonia. With Johnny in attic room, looking over papers. At Father's before tea and again in evening. Mary Burnet at house. Wrote Independent lesson notes. Down to Watson's, Bull's. Ordered oysters to Mr. Camp of Watertown. Retired at 12.
