(Hartford) Up at 8. Very hot day. Called at Allyn House with Johnny to see Rob't Erwin & his son. Thence to Mr. Fessenden's. Police headquarters, office of Post & at Allyn House again. Met Erwins. With them to Glazier's, to see picture of Gurdon's. Out to depot to meet Kingsbury. He did not come. After dinner wrote letters. Johnny went out to Wethersfield. Put wire up for Wisterias. Rob't Erwin came to tea. Off at 7.15 for Boston. Wrote up diary on cars. Met Mrs. Durant. Stopped with her at Wellesley. Pleasant caht with Mr. Durant. Retired at 11.40. Sent thirteen S.S. letters & telegrams, and two others.
