(Hartford) Up at 7.15. Wrote letters and on copy for Independent. Downtown with Johnny. Called at Lambe's, Talent & Prat's. Lambe called on me. to talk over Institution work. John B. Smith called in evening to talk about his work. Wrote on circular appeal for Union. Anxious about Institute exercises. Laid the matter before the Lord. Was wonderfully helped. Plan of exercise complete. Retired at 10.45.
