(Hartford) Rainy day. Up at 8. Wrote and read all forenoon. Called at Father's. Wrote there on Independent notes. Downtown with Johnny to bank, Mother's, etc. Called at Mr. Fessenden's. Paid him premium on life policy supposed to be paid in August. Took supper at Father's. Alice with me in evening there. Wrote up diary. Retired at 11.40.
