(Hartford) Up at 8.25. Fletcher went to Glastonbury. Wrote to Vincent & to Nashville Tel. Agent. Dr. Hunt called. Paid him $97. Finished letter to Fred. Downtown to post-office. Off for Boston at 12.20. Stopped at Massasoit to dinner. Thence at 1.45. Met Rev. D. P. Noyes & had talk with him about Home Evang'n. Met Dr. Seelye at Worcester. Wrote on cars. Excitment over pick-pocket. At Boston, met Shute. Went to his office. Thence to Lowell depot and Winchester. Pratt met me. Went to his new home for first time. Called after tea at Dr. Webb's - Edw'd Everett's old home. Wrote up diary & speech notes. Retired at 11.15.
